Victim: 78 Year Old Male

Deputies responded to location in  reference to an ambulance assist. Victim suffered from medical issues.  OMI arrived on scene and no foul play was found. OMI determined it was natural causes.


2020010311 / Driving While Revoked / 8-7-2020

Location: 168 mile marker US 84/285 (Tesuque)

Suspect: Chase Smith / 22 year old male / Santa Fe, NM

Male was observed traveling at a high rate of speed. He was driving while license revoked. Chase was arrested and booked accordingly.

Location: Interstate 25 Milepost 267, Santa Fe, NM

Stolen: 25 Gallon Air Compressor, Red Craftsmen Generator, Lincoln Ranger Welder (Total Value: $9500)

On Friday, August 7th, 2020, deputies responded to the above area in reference to a larceny.  The investigation found the above items were stolen by unknown persons between 5:00 pm on 08-06-2020 and 7:00 am on 08-07-2020.  This case remains under investigation and no suspect information is available at this time.

Location: Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility

Arrested: Francisco Montoya 35 Year Old Male

On Friday, August 7th, 2020, deputies responded to the above location in reference to an inmate having an active bench warrant.  The above subject was served a warrant out of the City of Santa Fe Municipal Court for failing to appear on a charge of Negligent Use of a Deadly Weapon.  Subject was rebooked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility without incident.


2020010297 / UNATTENDED DEATH

  LOCATION: SAN MARCOS LOOP (NM 14 AREA)

  VICTIM: 63 YEAR OLD MALE, SANTA FE, NM

   On this date, a male was found deceased on this property. There were no signs of foul play. OMI was called and the scene was turned over to the OMI Field Agent.


2020010263 / AGG. DWI (1ST), OPEN CONTAINER OF AN ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE, DRIVER TO BE LICENSED AND ROADWAYS LANED FOR TRAFFIC

  DEPUTY ASSIGNED: DANIEL MARTINEZ

  COMMANDER ENTERING: CPL. CLAY CULLISON

  LOCATION: PASEO REAL AND COLONY DRIVE (SANTA FE, NM 87507)

  SUSPECT: WILLIAM JAMES MARTINEZ / 24 year old

  CHARGES: AGG. DWI (1ST OFFENSE), OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHLIC BEVERAGE, DRIVER TO BE LICENSED, AND ROADWAYS LANED FOR TRAFFIC.

   On August 5, 2020, Cpl. Cullison conducted a traffic stop on a 2001, blue, Toyota Celica passenger car bearing NM NXY248. The traffic offense was observed on Airport Road and Oliver Drive. The driver failed to maintain a single lane of traffic. The driver was slow to respond to emergency equipment and came to stop at Paseo Real and Colony Drive. The driver showed signs of possible impairment upon contact, along with the admission to having several beers. Deputy Martinez found open containers of an alcoholic beverage on his person. Deputy Daniel Martinez conducted a DWI  investigation, which yielded a DWI arrest based off the observed SFST's. The driver submit to chemical testing. The breath result from the two samples submitted exceeded the 0.16g/210L limit. The driver was found to have a surrendered driver's license.  The driver was transported to ADC and booked accordingly.

 


2020010246/  UNATTENDED DEATH

  LOCATION: ESTAMBRE ROAD (EL DORADO AREA)

  VICTIM: 87 Y.O.F.  

On Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2020 Deputy Blea responded to the above area in reference to a not conscious and not breathing female.  It was later determined that the female had passed away prior to his arrival.  OMI responded and no signs of foul play were noted.


2020010245/ POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, CONCEALING IDENTITY AND POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA

  ASSIGNED DEPUTY: N. LEFLEUR

  LOCATION:  3900 BLOCK OF RUFINA STREET, SANTA FE, NM

  SUSPECT: JOSEPH MANUEL MANZANARES/ 30 YEAR OLD MALE/ SANTA FE, NM

 CHARGES: POSS. OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE- HEROIN, POSS. OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, CONCEALING IDENTITY. 2-WARRANTS: CONCEALING IDENTITY AND RESISTING AND EVADING OR OBSTRUCTING AN OFFICER.

  ON 8-5-2020 DEPUTY LEFLEUR WAS PATROLLING THE 3900 BLOCK OF RUFINA STREET, WHEN A MALE CROSSED THE STREET IN FRONT OF HIS UNIT. CONTACT WAS MADE WITH THIS MALE, WHO USED A FALSE NAME AND DATE OF BIRTH. IT WAS LATER LEARNED THE SUSPECT'S REAL NAME WAS JOSEPH MANUEL MANZANARES. MANZANARES HAD TWO OUTSTANDING WARRANTS FOR HIS ARREST. UPON BEING ARRESTED, SEARCH INCIDENT ARREST, NARCOTICS WERE FOUND IN HIS POSSESSION. HE WAS BOOKED INTO THE SANTA FE COUNTY ADULT DETENTION CENTER WITHOUT INCIDENT. 


2020-010220 Aggravated DWI, Careless Driving 8/4/20

Location: West Frontage Road/Las Estrellas, Santa Fe, NM 87507

Suspect: Robert Becker /Age: 21

Charges: Aggravated DWI, Careless Driving

On 8/4/20, Deputies responded to the intersection of the West Frontage Road and Las Estrellas in regards to a single motor vehicle crash/rollover. When deputies arrived contact was made with the driver who admitted to driving and crashing his vehicle while impaired. SFST’s were conducted and performed poorly. Driver provided a chemical sample resulting .18/.17. Driver was placed under arrest booked and transported to ADC.


2020010173 / Receiving or Transfering a Stolen Vehicle / 7-31-20

Location: Residence on Camino Loma (La Cienega)

Arrested: Emilia Chavez, 25-year-old female from Grants N.M.

Vehicle: 1999 Volkswagen

On 7-31-20 deputies were dispatched to an address off Camino Loma in reference to a stolen vehicle possibly being at the location.  Deputies located the stolen vehicle and further investigation led to the arrest of Ms. Chavez who was on scene.
