Suspect: Kenneth Howard, 55, Santa Fe, NM
Charges: DWI, Careless Driving, Open Container
On Sunday, May 26, 2019 at approximately 2:22pm, deputies responded to location in reference to a motor vehicle accident. The vehicle failed to make a turn and crossed the bridge, crashing into the railing on the bridge. Suspect was the driver, who displayed signs of impairment. Suspect agreed to submit to the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. During the tests, the suspect continued to show signs of impairment. Suspect was placed under arrest and was read the New Mexico Implied Consent Advisory. Suspect agreed to provide a breath test and provided two breath samples of 0.08 or higher. Inside the vehicle an open container of an alcoholic beverage was located. Suspect was transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility without incident.

On Sunday, May 26, 2019 at approximately 9:03pm, contact was made with the suspect at the location. Suspect had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. The warrants were for No Proof of Insurance and Expired Registration. Suspect was placed under arrest, transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility without incident.

The warrant was for shoplifting. Suspect was placed under arrest, transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility without incident.

On Saturday, May 25, 2019 at approximately 8:21pm, Deputies responded to location in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle. An unknown suspect(s) forced entry into the vehicle by breaking a window and removed the vehicle registration. Investigation is ongoing.
