On 09-18-10  the victim reported that she was home when a blue in color Toyota Tacoma pulled into her driveway. Shortly after the victim reported she heard a crash and looked down stairs to find  a young male at her door. The victim stated that the male then fled in the above vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle however, the suspects had abandoned the vehicle. Suspects are pending.


0210007851/ Battery Upon a Household Member/ 09-18-10

Location: State Road 14- Madrid

Charges: Battery Against a Household Member

Arrested:  Michael Newman age: 39

On 09-18-10 the above Deputy responded to a domestic dispute. Upon arrival it was learned that the above suspect pushed a family member causing the victim to fall.  The victim did have bruising from landing on a pile of rocks. The suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the Santa Fe County Jail accordingly.

Suspect:  Hope Castaneda, 34, Ssanta Fe, NM

Charged:  Battery Against a Household Member

On September 19, 2010 at 12:13 AM the suspect and victim were involved in a verbal altercation at a residence at the location.  The altercation turned physical when the suspect  struck and scratched the victim.


Case# 0210007865 DWI (Felony)

Location:  Old Las Vegas Highway at Arroyo Hondo Road

Vehicle:  Black, 2004, Chevy, Blazer

Suspect:  Theresa Gonzales, 54, Santa Fe, NM

Charged:  DWI (Felony), Driving While License Suspended or Revoked

On September 18, 2010 at 7:54 PM the suspect was found passed out in the vehicle at the location.  The suspect was found to be under the influence of an intoxicating liquor and had a Breath Alcohol Content of .16 or greater.  A check with the New Mexico Department of Motor Vehicles revealed that the suspect's New Mexico Driver's License is revoked with the arrest clause attached.  This check also revealed that the suspect has three prior DWI offenses.  The vehicle wa seized oursuant to  the Santa Fe County DWI Vehicle Forfieture Ordinance.


0210007861 Death Investigation

Location: Placitas Road (La Puebla area) NM

On this date Deputies responded to the above address in reference to an unattended death. The victim (63 year old female) passed away at her residence with family members present. It was determined that the victim died of natural causes; there were no signs of foul play. Victim had a lengthy medical history.

Suspect:  Jason Roybal, 22, Santa Fe, NM

Charged:  Aggravated Burglary, Battery Against a Household Member, Interference

                   With Communication, Larceny, Resisting or Obstructing an Officer

On September 18, 2010 at 12:36 AM the suspect unlawfully entered a residence at the location by force.  The suspect the battered the victim and took her cell phone so that she could not call Law Enforcement.  Upon the arrival of deputies the suspect fled the area on foot.  After a search of the aree the suspect was eventually located and arrested.


0210007820/ Burglary/ 09-17-10

Stolen: $280.00 in quarters

On 09-17-10 the victim reported that an friend had stopped by his residence to borrow money. The victim reported that after the friend left he noticed that his money was missing from his truck. Contact was made with the friend who did not have the items in her possession. The case is still pending investigation.

On September 17, 2010 at 11:30 PM Suspect #1 and Suspect #2 were involved in a verbal altercation at a residence at the location.  It was revealed that both suspects had active Arrest Warrants that had been issued by the Rio Arriba County Magistrate Court for Failure to Appear.


0210007832 Burglary

Deputy assigned: Joshua David

Location: 4600 block of Airport Rd, Santa Fe NM (Airport Rd area)

Stolen: Nail Gun, Tool Box w/ Misc Tools, 2 Drills

On above date deputies were dispatched to above address in reference to a burglary upon arrival deputies met with victim at Casitas Office where surveillance footage of the burglary was reviewed. At approximately 11:09 AM on 9-16-10 two persons exit the truck near the residence. At approximately 11:14 AM the males are seen putting something in the back of the truck. As the truck leaves the area the victim was able to identify his tools in the back of the pickup bed on video. The above items were taken valued at about $280.00. Entrance was gained to the residence by prying open the front door.
surveilance footage at Casitas Mobile Home Park showed a red in color newer model Ford F-150 pickup truck near space 80 at 11:14 AM on 9-16-10. As the vehicle left the area the victim identified tools in the pickup bed of the truck caught on video as his. The vehicle was occupied by two unknown persons. Vehicles plate appeared to be a temp tag.

Location: 100 block of Santa Fe County Rd 106, Santa Fe NM (Nambe NM area)

Stolen: Shower Curtain

Victim reported on this date that sometime within the last week some unknown person entered her residence by unknown means and stole the above listed item from a back bathroom. Victim suspects her ex husband thinking he may possibly still have a key to the residence. The above listed item stole was valued at about $20.00
This incident is currently under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
