On 12-23-2009 at 9:58 AM, Driver #1 was operating Vehicle #1 north at the location.  Driver #2 was operating Vehicle #2 south at the location.  Driver #3 was operating Vehicle #3 south at the location directly behind Vehicle #2.  Driver #1 lost control of Vehicle #1 as it drove over a wet/icy portion of the roadway.  As a result Vehicle #1 crossed left of the center divide line and struck Vehicle #2 head on.  Driver #3 attempted to avoid this impact but was unable to and Vehicle #3 was struck by one of the other vehicles.  Driver #1, Passenger #1, Driver #2 and Passenger #2 were all transported to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center by ambulance.  Driver #2 was pronounced dead at 11:25 AM by Dr, Olson due to internal injuries.  Driver #1 was admitted for a left hip injury.  Passenger #1 was admitted for nureological and internal injuries as well as a fractured arm.  Passenger #2 was admitted for a closed head injury, internal injuries and a fractured left hip.  Driver #3 was treated at the scene for a facial laceration.  The passengers in Vehicle #3 were uninjured.  Alcohol was not a contributing factor in this collision.  All parties involved were wearing seat belts.  The roadway was wet with some icy portions at the time of this incident. 


020911013 Burglary 12-23-09

On 12-23-09 at approximately 10:28 AM the alarm at the above location waas activated. Upon arrival of the home owner he discovered that the residence had been burglarized. Entry was gained by forcing the front door open.

On the above date, the above named officer conducted a trafffic stop on the defendant for making an improper turn.  Upon making contact, officer noted an ordor of an alcoholic beverage.  Defendant displyed signs of impairment while doing the field tests and was arrested.  Defendant had a BrAC of .12.  He was transported and booked accordingly at the adult detention.  For further information, refer to officer's report.


Case#:  0209010985/ Burglary(Attempted), Criminal Damage to Property/ Date:  12/22/09

Location:  2700 block of Willy Road, Santa Fe, NM

On 12/22/09 victim reported unknown suspects attempted to force entry into the residence by breaking door window and attempting to pry open door and bedroom window with an unknown object.  Incident occurred between 12/19/09 and 12/21/09 while victims were out of town.  Estimated damage amount is about $1000.00.  No suspects at this time.

Suspect:  Nicholas Dodson, age 31, Santa Fe, NM

Charged:  Battery on a household member

On 12/22/09 deputies were dispatched to above location in reference to a domestic disturbance.  Upon arrival deputies made contact with victim who stated that while trying to gather her belongings suspect grabbed her bag which was on her shoulder and caused bruising to her arm.  Suspect was then arrested, transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center.


Case#:  0209010984, Aggravated Assault on a household member, Burglary, Criminal Damage to Property of a Household member/ Date:

Location:  16 S. San Mateo Way , Santa Fe, NM (Valle Vista Subdivision)

Suspect:  Daniel Maes, age 26, Santa Fe, NM

Charged:  Agg. Assault on a household member, Burglary, Criminal Damage to Property of a household member,  Interference with Communications, Negligent Use of a firearm.

On 12/22/09 deputies were dispatched to above location in reference to a domestic dispute.  RECC then advised that suspect stabbed himself in the stomach.  Suspect was located and transported to St. Vincent Hospital.  Victim advised that when suspect arrived at her residence, suspect kicked front door and damaged it.  Victim advised that suspect threatened her with a knife before stabbing himself.  Suspect also damaged victim's cell phone.  Suspect was admitted into the hospital and upon release will be transported to the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center.

Sometime between 11-17-09 and 12-12-09 someone stole $1,700.00 in cash from the victim's jacket that she kept in her room. The victim suspects her relatives who are minors but is not sure who it was.

Sometime between 12-15-09 3:00PM and 12-21-09 11:30AM someone broke the sliding door window to the residence to gain entry. The suspect entered the residence but nothing appeared to be taken.
