Charges: 2 Counts of Bringing Contraband into a Place of Imprisonment

Deputies responded to the parking lot of the County Jail to investigate a reported violation of an order of protection. The suspect on that case was found to be a passenger in the above named individual's vehicle. The above named individual was found to have brought a Glock 9MM handgun with ammunition onto the jail facility property to pickup his daughter, who was also getting bonded out on other charges. The above named defendant was arrested and booked accordingly.

Arrested: Jacob Romero, 22 yoa, Espanola, NM

Deputies responded to the parking lot of the Santa Fe County Jail after receiving a call reporting the above named individual on the property. The subject was restricted by an active order of protection to stay away from his ex-girlfriend's place of work. The ex-girlfriend is a nurse at the jail facility. The male was arrested and booked accordingly.

Location: State Road 599, Mile Marker 7

Arrested: Joe Chavez, 38 yoa, Albuquerque, NM

Charges: Aggravated DWI, Resisting/Obstructing an Officer, Careless Driving, No Insurance, Driving on Suspended/Revoked Driver's License, Open Container, Expired Registration

The defendant was traveling southbound on State Road 599 at Mile Marker 7. The defendant left the roadway to the right and traveled through a fence separating the highway with the frontage road. The defendant then attempted to drive back through the fence from the frontage road side back onto the highway but was unsuccessful. The defendant was found sleeping behind the wheel of the vehicle with open containers of alchoholic beverages. The defendant refused to exit his vehicle to law enforcement and had to be physically extracted from the vehicle. The defendant was arrested and subsequently submitted to a breath test. The results were .19 and .20. He was booked accordingly.

Arrested: Monica Ortega, 46 yoa Santa Fe, NM

Charges: Abandonment or Abuse of a Child, Aggravated DWI, Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic

Deputy Peters observed the above named defendant driving her vehicle westbound on Airport Road. The defendant was unable to maintain her lane of travel and a traffic stop was conducted. The defendant was found to be under the influence of intoxicated liquor. The defendant had her two children seated in the back seat of the vehicle. An open container of of whiskey was found in the vehicle. The defendant was arrested and subsequently submitted to a breath test. The results of the test were .24. The children were transported by a Deputy to their father at their residence and the defendant was booked accordingly on said charges.

On the above date the suspect was placed under arrest after someone reported that the suspect's vehicle was stopped in a yard and the driver was passed out behind the wheel. Upon making contact with the driver it was determined that he was under the influence of intoxicating liquor. He was placed under arrest and booked accordingly.

On the above date the victim reported that someone made an unlawful entry to her husbands vehicle that was parked in the driveway. The vehicle was not locked so no force was used to gain entry. Taken from the vehicle was the stereo system valued at $600.00.

On the above date the victim reported that someone broke the lock to his tool box mounted in the back of his truck using possibly a screwdriver. Once entry was gained several tools were stolen.

The victim reported that his step-daughter stole 5 unframed paintings from a guest residence on the property and 50 clay native american pots from the main residence while visiting for the funeral of a relative.
