Deputies responded to investigate a vehicle that was seen using tools and torches on a news paper vending maching. Deputies intercepted the vehicle after it fled from the area and two males were caught with stolen coin boxes, torches and bolt cutters. The boys admitted to the thefts and were issued non-traffic citations due to the misdemeanor crimes committed. A court date was set.

Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance to wit: Heroin. On 8/18/07, Corrections officer was conducting a search of cells and located a daerk brown substance suspected of being heroin. Substance field tested positive for heroin. Suspect charged accordingly.

Victim reported that sometime between 8:30 am and 3:10 pm on 8/17/07, unknown person(s) UNLAWFULLY ENTERED a 1999 Ford F-250, by using a "'slim jim" type tool, and stole a Kenwood car stereo, a pair of Uniden 2 way portable radios, 300 music cd, and 4 computer speakers total value$ 2,550.00. Investigation continues.

Suspect: Christopher Martinez, Chimayo, NM age 35 Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance to wit: Heroin. On 8/11/07, suspect was being housed at the Detention Center, and was observed concealing contraband under his bunk blanket,by the corrections officer. A syringe, spoon and a brown tar like substance, suspected of being heroin was located. Suspect was charged accordingly.
