The above named subject drove her vehicle northbound in the southbound lanes of Constellation Drive causing her vehicle to collide head-on with a southbound vehicle. Occupants of the victim vehicle reported observing the defendant asleep at the wheel. The investigation revealed that the defendant was under the influence of narcotic medications and alcoholic beverage. She was arrested and due to medical treatment, she was summoned to court.

Victim advised that between 8:10 am and 12:45 pm (7-18-08) unlawfull forced entry was gained into her residence and a laptop computer, wallets, lawn mower and telephones were stolen. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

On 7/20/08, suspect was incarcerated at the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center and was served with a bench warrant out of Rio Arriba County for failure to appear. Suspect was booked accordingly.

On this date Deputy Kirt White was conducting a traffic stop and during the investigation of the traffic violation he discovered that Karen Valdez had an active warrant for her arrest for failure to appear. Karen Valdez was taken into custody and transported to the Adult Detention Center. The warrant was served to her at that location.

On 7/18/08, suspect was found passed out on the side of the road in a 2004 BMW 4d, bearing NM plate # 184-PJK. Suspect was in full control of vehicle and was foind to be impaired. Suspect was arrested but refused to give a breath/blood sample. A search warrant was obtained. Suspect had 4 proir DWI's. Suspect booked/charged accordingly.

On 7/17/08, suspect was driving a 2006 Ford F-150 doing 65mph in a 35mph zone, and was found to be impaired. Suspect was arrested, and charged accordingly.
