On October 3, 2018 Deputies were dispatched to Dilia Court in reference to a larceny.  Victim reported someone stole her Beagle puppy sometime between 12:00-12:30 (10/3/18) from her property.  Victim believes she may know who the suspect is who was in the area.

Inmate Castillo was served with an active arrest warrant while incarcerated at the jail.

Location: 1200 block of Summit Road, Santa Fe, NM

Suspect(s): Pending

Stolen: Purse, I-Phone, Key Fob, US currency, garage door opener, credit cards, employee key card

Unknown suspect(s) gained entry into above residence through the open garage and stole the above mentioned items. Case is under investigation.


0218016760, Death Investigation, 10/3/18

Deputy Handling: Corporal M. Jaramillo

Commander Entering: Sgt R. Ulibarri

Location: Hondo Area

On the aforementioned date, Deputies responded to a residence in reference to a welfare check.  Upon further investigation, a female subject was located unconscious and unresponsive inside the residence.  Santa Fe County medics were summonsed to the location and no signs of life were present. The office of the medical investigator was contacted and arrived at the location.  No signs of foul play were located.

Location: Valle Romero, Santa Fe, NM

Arrested: Jesus Castillo      Age: 30     Santa Fe, N.M.

Charges: Reckless driving, Leaving the scene of an accident

Deputies responded to above location in reference to a domestic dispute.  Victim reported above suspect drove onto the property and struck a parked Chevrolet pickup, and a metal post which was part of a shed and fled from the scene. At this time, suspect drove recklessly and was involved in another crash. Subject was arrested and booked at ADC.

Arrested: Anthony Valdez      Age: 28     Santa Fe, N.M.

Valdez was contacted by police after observing him in the area. Valdez was found to have an active warrant issued for his arrest. Valdez was taken to jail and booked accordingly.

While investigating a Motor Vehicle Crash suspect was a passenger in a vehicle that was involved. Suspect was uncooperative. Suspect was ran with information given and had two active warrants. While being booked a black tar substance was located and suspect confirmed it was heroin. Suspect was rebooked on Possession of a Controlled substance.

Location: Tesuque Vista Rd (Tesuque)

Deputies responded to a call of a 91 year old male not conscious not breathing.  Upon arrival it was determined the male passed away from natural causes.  No foul play was observed.

Location: Tesuque Vista (Tesuque)

Decedent: 91 year old male

On 10-01-18 Deputies responded to a report of an unresponsive male. The reporting party (family member to decedent) stated the male was deceased and cold to the touch. During the investigation it was learned the male had a history of Heart Disease and Parkinson. Santa Fe County Fire Personnel arrived on scene and determined the male to be deceased. No signs of foul play were observed. Office of the Medical Investigator was contacted and will determine official cause of death.
