Deputy observed a vehicle traveling south on SR 599 speeding. Deputy initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle and contacted the driver identified as Chris Chavez. Mr. Chavez was found to have an active warrant issued for his arrest. Chavez was arrested and taken to jail where he was booked accordingly.

Arrested: Chris Stanley 47 yoa male (Madrid)
Deputies were dispatched to Presbyterian Hospital for an after the fact crash. A female victim advised she was struck while walking down NM 14 and the vehicle that hit her left the scene.
The suspect/driver later contacted dispatch and acknowledged hitting the person with his vehicle and leaving the scene. He was arrested and booked without further incident

On Sunday, February 24, 2019 at approximately 9:40pm, Deputy responded to location to serve an outstanding arrest warrant on the suspect. Suspect was located, placed under arrest, transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility without incident. The original charges for the warrant were Aggravated Battery Against a Household Member, False Imprisonment, and Battery Against a Household Member.

Upon listed suspect was stopped for speeding. He displayed signs of impairment. He was arrested and submitted to a breath test. Driver had a breath alcohol level of more then twice the legal limit. He was booked into the Santa Fe County ADC without further incident.
