Location:  1400 Block of Bishop Lodge Road, Santa Fe, NM (Tesuque area)

Suspect: Unknown

Stolen: Jewelry, black lap top

Victim reported on today's date between 8am and 11am, unknown suspects gained forced entry through the south side door of the residence and stole above mentioned items valued at approximately $19,000. Case is still under investigation.


0217002516 – Death Investigation – 02-20-17

Location: La Paz Loop (Eldorado)

Victim: Female – 70 years of age

The victim’s son found her on the floor, unconscious, and not breathing.  Medical personnel arrived on scene and found no signs of life and estimated that the victim had been deceased for at least an hour.

The Office of the Medical Investigator (OMI) arrived on scene and saw no signs of foul play and determined that the death was from natural causes.


0217002374 – Burglary (Residential) – 02-17-17

Location:  Stoney Rd - (Cerrillos Area)

Suspect: Unknown

Between 8:00am and 3:00pm an unknown suspect entered 2 unlocked structures on the property and rummaged through the victim's personal belongings. The victim stated that it does not appear that anything was taken at this time.

Neighbors stated that a suspicious vehicle was seen in the area around this time. The vehicle is a silver Jeep Cherokee occupied by 2 white males. 

There were no signs of a forced entry. There are no known suspects at this time.    


0217002382 – DWI / Resisting / Evading an Officer – 02-17-17

Location: NM-502 – 14 Mile Marker

Suspect: Matthias Jaramillo – 23 – Los Alamos, NM

Charges: DWI – Resisting, Evading, Obstructing an Officer – Reckless Driving - Speeding

At approximately 3:15am the suspect was stopped for speeding, as he was heading westbound on NM-502.  The suspect appeared to be under the influence of liquor and or drugs and Field Sobriety Tests were started.  Before the tests were completed the suspect jumped back into his vehicle and sped away at a high rate of speed.  The suspect continued westbound towards Los Alamos and crashed his vehicle twice.  Just past Totavi the suspect went off of the roadway and struck rocks, which caused the right rear wheel and tire to be torn off of his vehicle.  The suspect continued on three wheels  for approximately 1.1 miles until he lost control of his vehicle,  at the intersection of where NM-502 and SR-4 split.  The suspect's vehicle appeared to have rolled over at least twice.

The suspect was treated and released from the Los Alamos Medical Center with minor injuries.

The suspect was booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility on the above charge(s).
