On Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 12:44 PM, Deputy responded to location in reference to a forgery. Victim advised the suspect had altered a check.


Case #0215006295, Possession of a controlled substance, to wit: Heroin

Assigned Deputy: J. Vigil

Location: Camino Justicia, Santa Fe, NM

Suspect: Carlos Loya, 26, Santa Fe, NM

Charges: Possession of a controlled substance, to wit: Heroin; Possession of a controlled substance, to wit: Suboxone

On Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 2:19 PM, Deputy responded to location in reference to the suspect being found in possession of a controlled substance. Suspect was found in possession of a brown tar like substance that field tested positive for Heroin. Suspect was also found in possession of Suboxone. Suspect was booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility without incident.

Victim: Female, 27, Chimayo, NM

Charges: Burglary (Residential), Larceny

On Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 7:41 PM, Deputy was dispatched to location in reference to a residential burglary. An unknown suspect(s) entered the residence and removed electronic items and a backpack. There were not any signs of forced entry into the residence.

Location: #28 Camino Justicia, Santa Fe, NM, 87508(Santa Fe areaa)

Arrested: Bryan Varela, 19 years old, Sant Fe NM, 87505

  Santa Fe Sheriff's Deputies responded to # 28 Camino Justicia in reference to a reported inmate in possession of a controled substance. Deputies arrived and were advised that a search was conducted on an incoming inmate at which time a suspicious item was located on the inmate. Upon further inspection the item identfied as a narcotic. The inmate was charged accordingly.


Case#: 02150066228/Death Investigation/Date: 04-28-2015

Location Cities of Gold Road, Santa Fe, NM (Pojoaque Area)

Deputies responded to the above location in reference to an unresponsive and not breathing 54 yoa male.  The male was found that he had been down for quit sometime.  There were no signs of foul play or anything suspicious.  OMI was contacted and took over the investigation. 


0215006173/Shooting at or from Motor Vehicle, Agg. Battery w/ a Deadly Weapon, Conspiracry to Comitty Agg Batter w a Deadly Weap

Arrested: Sturgeon, Dale, 29 yoa, Santa Fe
Arrested: Garcia, Andres, 22 yoa, Santa Fe
Arrested: Encinias, Miranda, 20 yoa, Santa Fe

Location: 3000 Bloack Jemez Road

On April 27, 2015, at approximately 1:09pm units were dispatched to the above location in reference to a subject who suffered a gunshot at this location. Upon arriving on scene it was secured by Detectives and the investigation into this incident was initiated. Investigation revealed two females arrived on scene to pick up another female. Upon arriving they were confronted by three males; the males involed battered the two females while they sat in the vehicle, one female began to drive away from the scene. As she drove away from the scene one male fired three gunshots from the front yard of the residence towards the vehicle. the driver suffered a gunshot wound to her left ankle as she was leaving the scene in her vehicle. A female passenger was pistol whipped by one male prior to shutting the front door on him. One male and one female fled the scene shortly afterwards.

Location: Calle Jessica, Santa Fe, NM, 87507 ( Santa Fe area)

 Santa Fe Sheriff's Deputies responded to an address on Calle Jessica in reference to a reported  51 year old female that was not breathing. Santa Fe County Medics arrived and began CPR. No signs of life were found by medics. OMI was contacted, and responded to the scene. The victim had an extensive medical history. No signs of foul play were observed at the scene. This case remains under investigation.

Location: Rogersville Road, Santa Fe, NM,  87508 (Madrid/ Cerrillos area)

Stolen: Solar panel equipment

   Santa Fe Sheriff Deputies responded to an address on Rogersville Road in reference to a reported burglary. Santa Fe Sheriff's Deputies arrived and made contact with the victim who reported that suspect(s) gained unlawful entry into the victims. Once unlawful entry  was gained suspect(s) took solar panel equipment from the home. The scene was processed  for evidence. This case remains under investigations.


0215006149,Battery against Peace Officer, 04.26.15

Location: 28 Camino Justicia, Santa Fe Adult Detention Center, SF, NM

Arrested: Curtis Chapman, Santa Fe, NM

Charges: Battery against Peace Officer X2

Deputies responded to the Santa Fe Adult Detention Center, to investigate two Corretional Officers, being battered by Curtis Chapman.  Chapman attempted to exit the Alpha Unit, durning count and pushed a Corretional Officer and punched another in the face.  He was rebooked on the above charges.


Case#:0215006116/ Death Investigation/Date: 04-26-2015

Location: North San Mateo Way, Santa Fe, NM (Valle Vista Area)

Deputies responded to the above location in reference to an unconscious and not breathing 69 year old female.  Medics on scene were already performing life saving techniques and then were terminated.  There were no signs of any foul play.  OMI took over the scene and concluded their investigation.
