Arrested: Leroy Ortiz, 49 yoa male, Bernalillo NM
Charges: Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer, DWI (Felony), and Driving while license suspended
Deputies conducted a welfare check on an individual asleep behind the wheel of a Blue in color Chevy Silverado at the above location. Upon contact with the driver an odor of alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath and person. The driver became angry upon contact and brandished a sharp metal object. The taser was deployed on the driver and subsequently taken into custody. Alternative Field Sobriety Tests were conducted on the driver where he displayed signs of impairment. Driver was arrested and advised of the New Mexico Implied Consent Advisory. Suspect agreed to chemical testing where he was taken for a legal blood draw, results pending. Suspect was also found to be driving on a suspended license. Suspect was transported and booked accordingly without further incident on the above charges.

Victim reported his vehicle was burglarized on this date between 11:30am and 3:40pm as his vehicle was parked at the above location. Unlawfully entry was gained by some unknown person.
The above listed items stolen were valued at about $300.00

Victim stated after getting in a verbal argument with her husband (suspect) he threw a kitchen knife at her nearly striking her. The suspect then approached the victim and struck her with an open hand. The suspect was apprehended and placed under arrest accordingly.

Arrested: Maxwell Palmer 24 year old, Santa Fe, NM, 87010
Victim advised he and his brother got into a verbal argument at which time the above listed suspect became angy and armed himself with 2 kitchen knives and threaten to harm the victim with the knives. The suspect was apprehended and placed under arrest. A check of the suspect through NCIC showed the suspect had an outstanding felony warrrant from the State of Iowa. The suspect was arrest without incident and booked accordingly.

On this date Deputies conducted a traffic stop when it was discovered the driver was operating a motor vehicle on a suspended/ revoked drivers license. The above suspect was also found to have heroin in her possession, she arrested and booked into the Santa Fe County

Arrested: Nick Vargas, 23-year-old male from Santa Fe N.M.
On 01-17-14 Mr. Vargas, who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest was observed at the Allsups. He ran from Deputies after being ordered to stop. He was caught after a short foot pursuit and a short struggle ensued to get handcuffs on him. While booking him into the jail suboxone was located in his wallet.

Location: State Road 592 near the intersection of Santa Fe County Road 76 (Tesuque/Chupadero area)
Deceased:43-year-old female from Santa Fe N.M.
On 01-16-14 at about 11:30AM the Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a report of a vehicle parked near the above location with an unconcious female in the driver seat. Upon arrival a female was located in the vehicle with a gun shot wound to the head. Medics arrived and confirmed she was deceased. The investigation revealed the female was suicidal and left a suicide note for a friend. She suffered a self inflicted gun shot wound to the head.
