Suspect: David Chavez Age: 58 Chimayo,NM
Deputy observed a vehicle traveling west on SR 76 with a burnt headlamp.A traffic stop was was initiated and contact was made with the listed driver. A driver's license history was requested and the driver was found to be operating a vehicle while his driver's license was revoked with the arrest clause. The listed driver was arrested and taken to jail.

On 09-17-2013 between the hours of 11:00AM and 11:45AM someone entered the victim's home through an unlocked door and stole the above listed items.

Charged: Aggravated DWI, Open Container, No Insurance
On 9/16/13 deputies responded to above location in reference to a suspicious vehicle at the above location. Deputies arrived on scene and located the vehicle. Contact was made with the driver who appeared to be highly intoxicated and had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from her breath. Suspect admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages. Suspect was given SFST's and she showed signs of impairment. An open container was located in the vehicle. Suspect was arrested and read the NM Implied Consent. Suspect agreed to submit to a breath test. Suspect's BrAC results were .26, .26. Suspect was transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center.

On 9/16/13 deputies responded to above location in reference to a burglary. Victim stated that between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. unknown persons broke a window to the residence to gain entry. Victim stated that unknown persons took a laptop computer, misc. jewelry, and misc. US Currency. Estimated value of items taken is $1087.50. Estimated damage amount is $50.00.

Charged: Possession of a controlled substance to wit: Heroin, Driving while license suspended/revoked
On 9/16/13 deputies responded to above area in reference to a reckless driver. Contact was made with the suspect vehicle and the suspect who was exiting the vehicle. Suspect admitted to driving. A driver's license inquiry was ran on the suspect who had a revoked driver's license with the arrest clause. Inside the vehicle in a cup holder was a syringe with a brown in color substance. The substance was field tested and tested positive for Heroin. Suspect was arrested, transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center. The vehicle was seized as per Santa Fe County Ordinance 2006-5.
