Location: NM 14/Fire Place

Arrested: Nicasio Santiago-Maldonado (30 YO)

Deputies were dispatched to the area in reference to a vehicle that was parked in a traffic lane. Upon arrival the driver was found asleep in the driver seat blocking the left lane. A DUI investigation was conducted and signs of impairment were observed. Driver blew 0.18 BAC. 


Case #024003989 // Receiving/Transferring a Stolen Vehicle, Resisting/Evading - 8/4/2024

Deputy Assigned: R. Blea

Location: Camino Vista Aurora 

Arrested: Carlos Ortega (43 YO)

Deputies were patrolling the area when they approached a suspicious vehicle with two males inside. Contact was made with the driver who had an active warrant for his arrest. While being detained, the suspect resisted the Deputy. Further investigation revealed the vehicle the suspect in was also stolen. 


Case #2024003984 // Aggravated DUI, Careless Driving - 8/4/2024

Location: Camino Monte Feliz

Arrested: Miles Nelson (66 YO)

Deputies were dispatched to a crash in the area. The driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital where deputies met him there and conducted a DUI investigation. Driver refused SFST's, and a breath sample and was charged accordingly. 


Case #2024003986 / Unattended Death / 08/04/2024

Deputy Assigned: C. Cullison

Location: Ojo De La Vaca (Santa Fe County)

Decedent: 56 YOM

Deputies responded to a call for service in reference to a cardia arrest.  The decedent was on a long-distance bike ride when he unexpectedly suffered from a medical episode.  Life-saving efforts were performed but were unsuccessful.  OMI conducted a separate investigation and did not identify any suspicious activity.  


Case #2024003982 / Aggravated Assault - Criminal Damage - Resisting / 08/04/24

Deputy Assigned: M. Romero

Commander Enetering: Sgt. V. Baca

Location: Opera Drive (Santa Fe)

Arrested: Ryan Collby Ginn (40 YOM)

Deputies responded to a call for service in reference to Mr. Ginn damaging property. It was learned Mr. Ginn threatened a victim with a hammer and damaged approximately $17,000.00 in property.  When Deputies located and approached Mr. Ginn, he became non-compliant.  Mr. Ginn was arrested, charged and booked into Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility


Case #2024003981 / Warrant Service / 08/04/24

Location: Camino De Los Ranchos (Chimayo)

Arrested: Jimmy Vigil a.k.a. Mark Vigil (44 YOM)

Deputy Gallardo was conducting a close patrol in the area and observed Mr. Vigil walking on the road.  Due to a recent case, Deputy Gallardo recognized Mr. Vigil and had RECC determine if Mr. Vigil had an active warrant.  RECC determined he did.  Deputy Gallardo made contact with Mr. Vigil and placed him in custody.  Mr. Vigil was transported and booked accordingly.


Case 2024003972- Burglary of a vehicle- 8/3/2024

Deputy Assigned: J. Corley

Location: NM 47 and Pacheco Canyon 

Victim: 67 YOM

Deputies responded to a call for service regarding a burglary of a motor vehicle. The victim advised, that while his vehicle was parked at the location an unknown person(s) broke into the vehicle through the rear passenger door window. The victim's wallet, Drivers license, and credit cards were taken. No further information at this time. 


Case #2024003966 / Unattended Death / 08/03/2024

Location: Tetilla Road (Eldorado)

Decedent: 76 YOM

Deputies responded to a call for service in reference to a cardiac arrest.  Upon arrival, medical personnel were at the location and advised the patient was beyond life-saving measures.  Nothing suspicious was identified at the scene.


Case#2024003951/Larceny and Criminal Damage to Property/8-2-24

Assigned: J Thomas

Entering: Sgt. C Valencia

Location: Canada Del Rancho, Santa Fe, NM

Stolen: Catalytic Converter ($1,500.00)

Deputies were dispatched to the location in reference to a larceny. Upon arrival, it was learned that unknown suspects took the victims' vehicle's catalytic converter, which was valued at about $1,500.00.
