CASE 0212000087 / CONTRIBUTING TO A MINOR, RECKLESS DRIVING, OPEN CONTAINER, RESISTING AN OFFICER / 01-02-2012

LOCATION: VUELTA VENTURA & CALLE KRYSHANA, SANTA FE AREA

ARRESTED:  GILBERTO GRANILLO 23 YOA MALE AND A 16 YOA FEMALE, BOTH OF SANTA FE

CHARGES: CONTRIBUTING TO A MINOR, RECKLESS DRIVING, OPEN CONTAINER, RESISTING AN OFFICER

Above vehicle was parked by the park with four ocupants. After attempting to make contact with vehicle, vehicle fled driving over the curb to get away from the deputy, ran a stop sign. Vehicle stopped at Vuelta Ventura and Calle Kryshana. Passengers started to get out of vehicle. Passenger from behind driver got out and ran down Calle Kryshana. I advised passengers and driver to stay where they were. I caught female on Calle Kryshana and placed her under arrest. I took female back to patrol car, and the suspect vehicle was gone. Vehicle was located at 6200 block of Vuelta Ventura. Driver was located inside, and placed under arrest. Female did not provide her full name, and different date of birth. She was identified by her parents at her residence. JPO did not authorize incarceration and was turned over to her parents. Driver was transported and booked into ADC on the above listed charges.

Deputies responded to the above location in reference to a Death Investigation.  The above victim was found to be unconsicious and not breathing.  Life saving procedures were attempted with no success.  Victim had a medical history.  There were no signs of foul play.

CASE 0212000017 / RESISTING OBSTRUCTING AN OFFICER / 01-01-2012

ARREST:  OLGA MENDOZA, 36 YOA FEMALE

CHARGES:  RESISTING OBSTRUCTING AN OFFICER

ON THIS DATE AT ABOVE LISTED LOCATION DEPUTYS WERE CONDUCTING A WELFARE CHECK ON SOME MINOR CHILDREN BEING TAKEN CARE OF BY INTOXICATED PERSONS.  DURING INVESTIGATION SUSPECT KEPT OBSTRUCTING INVESTIGATION AND WAS TOLD SEVERAL TIMES TO STOP IT, BUT DUE TO HER INTOXICATION SHE DID NOT.  SUSPECT WAS ARRESTED AND TRANSPORTED TO THE ADULT DETENTION CENTER AND BOOKED.  THERE WAS SOBER PERSONS TO TAKE CARE OF CHILDREN.

On 01/01/12 deputy  was dispatched to 2 New Mexico 344 at the Edgewood McDonald's in reference to an attempted burglary.

Complainant/manager advised sometime between 10:00pm on December 31, 2011 and 8:00am on January 1, 2012  unknown suspect/s attempted to gain entry into their exterior walk in freezer. Complainant advised the suspects attempted to gain entry by prying the large stainless steel door open. Complainant advised the freezer contains large amounts of frozen food. No items were taken but suspects caused $1500  in damage to the freezer door.

Last seen: (on 12/30/11 7:10am at the resident program, wearing black jacket, blue jeans, purple beanie hat) He was entered into NCIC and the Missing Persons Clearinghouse.


0211019227 Criminal Damage 12/31/2011

Location: 1600 block of NM Hwy 14 (San Pedro area)

Damaged: 60' Mining Conveyor belt

Victim stated that some unknown person(s) attempted to steal a 60ft Red in color mining conveyor belt, by cutting the conveyor belt in half and placing it on a flat bed trailer. The trailer had two flat tires on the right side and was missing the license plate.

The damage was estimated to be about $8000.00


Case# 0211019250 Motor Vehicle Crash (Fatality)

Location:  State Road 4, 263 feet west of Mile Marker 66 (White Rock)

Vehicle:  Silver, 2004, Buick, 4 door

Victim:  Female, 84, Los Alamos, NM

On December 31, 2011 at 5:22 PM the victim was operating the vehicle west at the location when she sustained an unknown medical emergency.  As a result the vehicle left the roadway on the right side and went through a barb wire fence.  The vehicle then went into a field where it struck two trees before coming to rest.  The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  Speed and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this crash,.  Next of kin notification is still pending at this time as possible relatives reside out of state.
