On 2/9/12 a crime check called and advised that there was a silver in color Chrysler Sebring with Oregon plates swerving and straddleing both lanes on SR 285. Caller advised that the vehicle then turned left on Old Las Vegas Hwy and almost struck several vehicles. Deputies made contact with the vehicle in which the driver showed signs of impairment. SFST's were conducted and driver was then placed under arrest. Driver then submitted to a breath test in which her BrAC results were .18, .18. Suspect was then booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center.

Stolen: donation currency/change container
Deputies responded to an activated alarm at the above location and met with the proprietor who was on scene. Surveillance footage reveled a unidentified male subject forced entry into the establishment, by striking the glass window with a hammer. The suspect wearing a hooded sweater, black jeans, and white tennis shoes stepped into the establishment grabbed a clear plastic money donation container then fled the area. The window is approximately a 2'x3' ½'' in size and is valued at approximately $500.00.

Inmate Tabitha Quintana was found in possession of a small amount of Heroin and a syringe during a cell inspection. She was charged accordingly.

Arrested: Jooseph Fawcett, 31-year-old male from White Rock New Mexico
On 02-08-2012 at about 8:22p.m. Deputies observed a blue in color Ford Taurus traveling westbound on Airport Road near Agua Fria Street without the vehcile's headlights on. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with the driver, Mr. Fawcett who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Mr. Fawcett failed field sobriety tests, was placed under arrest and taken to the hospital for a blood draw. Results are pending. Drug paraphernalia was found in his vehicle at the time of arrest.

On 2/8/12 victim said that some time between 10:00am on December 1, 2011 and 8:00pm on December 5, 2011, an unknown person took a stenograph writing machine. Victim said there were a lot of friends and family members at the above address between these dates because the victim's wife had just passed away. Estimated value of item taken is $5000.00.

Deputies responded to the above location in reference a fight in progress. Victim reported suspect waved a wooden stick, causing victim to fear of immediate battery. Suspect left the area prior to deputies arrival, but a description of the suspect's vehicle was provided by victim. A vehicle fitting the description provided by victim was located and stopped. The above suspect was arrested and found to have a wooden stick in his possession. Suspect was booked and charged accordingly at the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center.

Victim: Female, 77, Edgewood, NM
On Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 12:03 AM deputies responded to a residence at the location in reference to an unresponsive female. Upon arrival the victim was found in her bedroom. Attempts by medical personnel to revive the victim met with negative results and she was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim had a history of a heart condition. There were no signs of foul play.

On 2/7/12 deputy was dispatched to above location in reference to a burglary. Victim stated between 6:50 a.m. and 5:00p.m. unknown suspect(s) gained unauthorized entry to the residence by the south facing window near the front entrance to the home. Victim stated that unknown suspects took misc. jewelry from within. Estimated value of items taken is $900.00. There was no damage to the window.
