Victim: 42 YOF
Deputies were dispatched to the address in reference to an aggravated battery. Investigation revealed an unknown suspect walked up to the vehicle with 3 individuals inside, and was trying to take the vehicle. The victim did not hand over the keys, which made the suspect frustrated, and resulted in the victim being hit in the head with a firearm. Deputies searched the area for the suspect and were unable to locate him.

Location: E. Ramada Way (Santa Fe County)
Arrested: Nick D. Vargas (33 YOM)
Deputies responded to a call for service, in reference to a wanted person. Deputies located the subject and placed him in custody without incident. The subject had three active warrants, one of which was signed on today's date.

Victim: 24 YOF
Suspect: Nick Vargas 33 YOM
Deputies were dispatched to a residence in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon contact with the Victim, she advised Mr. Vargas hit her on the side of her head and stole her phone. Nearby witnesses corroberated the Victim's statement. Mr. Vargas fled the scene after the battery. An arrest warrant will be requested for Mr. Vargas's arrest.

Arrestee: Shawn Rivera 45 YOM
Deputies were dispatched to a residence in reference to a possible domestic disturbance. Upon arrival and upon investigation, it was discovered that Mr. Rivera battered a household member. Mr. Rivera was placed under arrest without incident and later booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center.

Arrestee: Gloria Velarde 72YOF
On Saturday, December 16th, 2023, Deputy J. Dillinger conducted a traffic stop with a red 2006 Pontiac sedan. Deputy Dillinger, prior to the stop, conducted an NCIC check of the license plate and discovered, the registered owner's (Ms. Velarde) driver's license status was revoked. The revocation was for a DWI related incident. Due to Ms. Velarde's age and very fragile state, Ms. Velarde will be summoned into court for the above charge.

Location: 10 Cities of Gold Road (Pojoaque)
Arrested: Jasmine Garcia (31 YO)
Deputies responded to the casino to assist Pojoaque PD with a non-tribal combative female. The female was under the influence, and refused any assistance from Deputies, then attempted to leave the location in her vehicle. After being stopped, suspect was uncooperative, and refused chemical testing. She was taken to the detention center and charged accordingly.

Location: 20-H Rocking Horse Road
Deceased: 60 YO Female
Deputies responded to the location in reference to a cardiac arrest. It was learned the victim had a DNR in place, and life saving measures were not performed. There were no signs of foul play.
Case 2023007275 Warrant Service 12/15/23

Location: Valle Vista Blvd
Arrested: Gabriela Valdivia-Gonzales (52 YOF)
Deptuies observed a traffic violation and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was identified and found to have an active arrest warrant. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility.
Case #2023007262 / DWI, Speeding - 12/14/2023
Deputy Assigned: M. Ward

Location: Siler Road & Industrial Road, Santa Fe
Arrested: Cody Cordova (27 YO)
Deputies responded to the area in reference to a reckless driver. Subject was found speeding and a traffic stop was initiated. While making contact, subject advised he consumed multiple alcoholic beverages prior to driving. Subject showed signs of impairment during SFST's, had a BRAC of 0.14/0.13, and was taken to jail and charged accordingly.
Case #2023007244 / AGG DWI, Roadways Laned for Traffic, Open Container - 12/13/2023
Deputy Assigned: M. Ward

Location: NM 14, Mile Marker 42
Arrested: Athelstan Spilhaus (61 YO)
Deputy initiated a traffic stop on the suspect due to him failing to maintain the traffic lane. Upon contact, suspect advised he took too much of his prescription medication. During SFST's, suspect showed signs of impairment, refused a breath test, and was charged accordingly.
