VICTIM: 30 YEAR OLD SANTA FE COUNTY RESIDENT

On 7-3-2022 in the mid-morning hours, as the victim was traveling on NM 14, he stopped and attempted to breakup a domestic incident, where a female was being battered. During his attempt to stop this battery, the suspect party shot the victim and then fled the area. This case is under investigation.

The suspect crashed his car into a wall and was later found to be impaired. The suspect was summoned due to his injuries from the crash.

LOCATION: APACHE RIDGE ROAD AREA

DECEASED: 57-YEAR OLD WHITE MALE

On 7-1-2022, I responded to a 911 call reference to a male collapsing in his residence. Santa Fe County Medics were unsuccessful in reviving the male, who had been sick for a brief time. OMI was called out and took over the death investigation. There is no signs of foul play.

On 6-30-22 the victim received a phone call from someone claiming to be a Santa Fe Police Officer.  The male stated the victim's sister was in a crash and needed help.  The suspect then changed his story and said he was with the Mexican Cartel and was holding the victim's sister hostage.  He demanded the victim send $500 to a wire transfer station in Mexico.  The victim complied and soon after found out his sister was ok and had never been kidnapped or in a car crash.

Stolen: Samsung 50" TV

The victim reported someone entered their apartment on 6-29-22 between 11:30am and 1:00pm.  They entered by prying open a sliding glass door.  Once inside the suspect stole the victim's flat screen television.
