On Wednesday, August 9, 2018 I was traveling south on US 84/285 and was approaching the La Puebla Intersection.As I got closer to the intersection I observed a White Dodge pickup truck doing a burnout and fishtailing as it began to travel north on US 84/285. It should be noted heavy traffic was around the pickup truck as it was driving recklessly.I initiated a traffic stop and spoke with and took the driver into custody. Mr. Chavez was transported to SFCADF and was booked accordingly.

Suspect: Andrew Martinez, 35, Chimayo, NM

Vehicle: 2004 White Chevy Tahoe

Charges: DWI, Duty to Give Information and Render Aide, Immediate Notice of Accident, Possession of a Controlled Substance, to wit: Marijuana; Possession of a Controlled Substance, to wit: Suboxone

On Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at approximately 1:39pm, deputies responded to location in reference to a motor vehicle accident. The vehicle had crashed into another vehicle and fled the area. Vehicle was located a short distance from the location of the crash with the driver identified as the suspect. Suspect showed signs of impairment and submitted to the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Suspect displayed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest for DWI. Suspect was read the NM Implied Consent Advisory for a blood draw and refused to submit to a blood draw. Upon search incident to arrest, suspect was found in possession of marijuana and suboxone, but did not a prescription for them. Suspect was transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility without incident. Vehicle was towed from the scene.

Victim reported unknown suspect fraudulently opened a Verizon account in his name.  Case is under investigation.

Suspect: Michael Kane

A traffic stop was conducted on the listed suspect.  Upon running the suspect through NCIC it was learned his driving privileges had been revoked.  Suspect was arrested and booked accordingly.

Victim reported her classroom was broken into some time during the month of July.  Nothing was taken and there was no damage.  Suspects gained entry through an open window.  Case is under investigation.

On August 7, 2018, I was flagged down by a female requesting help with her son. When I arrived on scene, an attempt was made to contact the suspect. However, he did not answer the door. Smoke was observed coming from a bedroom window, and when entry was made on the residence there was a fire on top of the stove. The fire was extinguished. The suspect left a note stating he was going to burn the house down. The suspect also broke several items inside the residence prior to leaving the residence. A warrant was drafted for the suspect after he was not located in the area.


0218013014-False Imprionment-Battery Against a household memeber-Possession of a Controlled Substance-08/07/18

Location: 100 Los Gatos Lane

Victim: 39 Year Old Male

 Deputies responded to the above address for a Domestic Dispute.Above suspect struck victim in the face 4 to 5 times with an open fist and cornered her inside the home multiple times not allowing her to leave.Victim tried calling 911 and had phone taken by suspect not allowing the victim to call 911.Before being placed inside the patrol car, a green leafy substance and white powdery substance was found on the suspects person.Suspect was arrested and booked into the Santa Fe County Jail.

Stolen: Purse, Clothing, Cash, Checks and Documents

Victim reported the listed items were stolen from her residence during the night of August 6 and morning of August 7.  Suspect gained entry through a bedroom window.  Case is under investigation.

Victim reported to Deputy, some time between July 2018 and today, August 5, 2018 persons forced entry into a locked bedroom to his home and stole the listed type of items. This case is under investigation.
