Items Taken: Circular saw

Arrested: Darius Chacon 35 yoa, Santa Fe, NM

Deputies responded to a residential burglary. Victim report unknown suspect(s) cut a wire to the cable gate and a pad lock to a shed with a bolt cutter and stole the above mentioned item. Witness gave a description of a vehicle and suspect(s). During the course of the investigation, contact was made with the above suspect who attempted to evade. The above suspect was arrested and booked accordingly.

Incident Location: 30 Block of Rancho Canoncito, Santa Fe, NM

Items Taken: Jewelry, chain saw and bike pump

Suspect(s): Pending

Victim reported sometime between 9-6-2016 and 9-16-2016 unknown suspect(s) entered her residence that was left unsecured and stole the above mentioned items.  Case is still under investigation.


Case#: 0216015227, Larceny 9/25/16

Incident Location: Buffalo Thunder Resort and Casino

Items Taken: Black Apple I-Pad

Deputies responded to the Buffalo Thunder Resort and Casino in reference to a stolen Apple I-Pad.  The victim advised that she was gambling at slot machines on the casino floor when she decided to change locations to a different set of slot machines.  When she changed locations, she left her I-Pad behind and returned a short time later to find it missing.  Casino surveillance was reviewed and the case is under investigation. 


Case #0216015216, Aggravated DWI

Assigned Deputy: T. Lopez

Location: US Highway 285 and Colina Drive, Santa Fe, NM

Suspect: Joseph Anaya, 36, Santa Fe, NM

Vehicle: Black 2014 Nissan SUV

Charges: Aggravated DWI, Duty to Give Information and Render Aide, Driving While License is Suspended, Assault Against a Peace Officer, Possession of a Controlled Substance, to wit: Suboxone

On Saturday, September 24, 2016 at approximately 10:19pm, Deputies responded to location in reference to a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Suspect had left the scene of the crash and was located in the area. Suspect showed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest for DWI. Suspect was read the New Mexico Implied Consent Advisory and agreed to submit to a blood test. Suspect was taken to the Christus St. Vincent Hospital to be medically checked and for a blood draw. While at the hospital the suspect attempted to head butt the deputy. A check of the suspect's driver's license was run through N.C.I.C., which revealed that his driver's license was suspended. Suspect also had Suboxone in his possession. Suspect was medically cleared, transported and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility without incident. No one received any life threatening injuries as a result of this incident. 


0216015142, Fraud, 9-23-2016

Location: Alamo Lane (Santa Fe)

Suspect(s): Pending

Victim reported he was contacted via text message on 8-28-2016 by a male individual wanting to purchase a custom door from the victim who was selling on Craigslist's. The male individual sent the victim a check for $1450.00 and advised the victim to keep $250 and send the remainder of the money via money gram to a male individual in Chicago, Illinois.  Victim then was contacted by the male individual and advised the transaction was cancelled and was instructed to send $75 to a female in Odessa, Ukraine.  Shortly later, victim was notified by his bank that the check had bounced and he had insufficient funds in his account. Case is still under investigation.


Case #0216015164 Battery against a household member 09-23-16

Location: Dutch Road (Santa Fe)

Arrested: Stephanie Hartwell 33 yoa female (Santa Fe)

Deputies were advised of a domestic dispute, and investigation revealed the suspect had battered her husband after a verbal argument. Suspect was arrested and booked without incident.

Location- 100 Block of Double Arrow Road

On this date, deputy spoke with the victim who advised unknown subjects had obtained his personal information and had opened credit card accounts in his name.  Case is under investigation.


0216015160-Driving while license suspended/revoked, Careless Driving- 9-23-16

Person Arrested- Teresa Sarmiento 50 yo Santa Fe

Above listed person was involved in a motor vehicle crash. Upon running her driver's license, it was found that she was revoked. Subject was booked accordingly.


02316015124/ Breaking and Entering/ 09-23-16

Location: State Road 503- Nambe

On 09/23/16 Deputy responded to the above location in regards to an Breaking and Entering report. The victim reported between 09/15/16 and 09/22/16 an unknown person forced entry into the residence by damage a north facing door. There did not appear to be any items taken from the residence. Suspect information is pending at this time.


0216015115/ Death Investigation/ 09/23/16

Location: Calle Noble- Tesuque

Deceased: 75 year old male

On 09/23/16 Deputies responded to the above location in regards to an unresponsive male. Upon arrival life saving techniques were applied. However, the male subject passed away after being transported by Medics to the hospital. There were no signs of foul play.
