Arrested: Elizabeth Vargas       Age: 58      Santa Fe,NM

Deputies were dispatched to location in reference to a vehicle stopped in the median of the roadway. Upon deputy arrival, the driver appeared to be impaired. Sobriety tests were administered and impairment was displayed. Driver was arrested and submitted to a legal blood draw. Driver was taken and booked into jail.

Subject found to have active warrant for failing to pay fines.  He was booked accordingly.

0216003434 - Death Investigation - 03-06-16

Location: New Mexico Hwy 76 – Chimayo Area

Victim’s family stated that they last spoke to the 78 year old female at approximately 8:00pm the night before. When she was checked on at approximately 6:30am it was learned that she had passed sometime during the night.

There were no signs of foul play.

OMI was contacted and took over the investigation

0216003441 - Death Investigation - 03-06-16

Deputy Assigned: Deputy S. Miller

Commander Entering: Corporal R. J. Clark

Location: Sunset Springs Rd, Santa Fe, NM

Deputies responded to the above location in reference an ambulance assist call. An 89 year old male fell to the floor, grabbing his chest. The man’s son called 911 and began CPR. Paramedics arrived on scene and continued CPR but were not able to revive the victim.

There were no signs of foul play.

OMI was contacted and took over the investigation.

 

0216003452-Aggravated Burglary, Larceny, Criminal Damage to Property- 3-6-16

Location- 100 Block of Verano Loop Santa Fe, NM

Items Taken- Electronics, medication, jewlery and a handgun

Between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. unknown subjects forced entry into the above residence and took the above items.  Case is under investigation.

Items taken- misc tools and tool boxes, wood door

Between March 2, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. and March 6, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. subjects gained forced entry into the above residence.  Once inside the suspects took the above listed items.  Value of the items is $590.00. Case is under investigation.

Items taken- miscallanous tools and riding equipment

Between 4:00 p.m. March 5 and 12:30 p.m. March 6 the above items were taken from the above location.  Value of items taken is $2,900.  Case is under investigation.

0216003419, Breaking and Entering, 03.05.16

Location: 18126 US 84/285 Valley Veterinary Clinic

Deputies responded to the above location in regards to an alarm.  Upon their arrival they noticed forced entry had been made into the business.  When the key holder arrived he did not notice anything missing form inside the business, This case is still under investigation, no suspects have been identified. 

0216003408-Receiving Transfering Stolen Motor Vehicle, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia- 3-5-16

Location- 17000 Block of US 84/285

Person Arrested- William York 30 yo

Deputy initiated a traffic stop on a white in color 2007 Chevrolet Aveo.  After running the vehicle information, it was found that the vehicle was reported stolen.  Subject was arrested.  During a search of the vehicle, a glass pipe used to smoke narcotics was found where the suspect was seated. Suspect was charged and booked accordingly.
