Deputy initiated a traffic stop with suspect after observing a traffic violation. Suspect was found to have been driving while his license is revoked with the arrest clause. Suspect was arrested and his vehicle seized in accordance with Santa Fe County Ordinance 2006-5/ 2013-5.

Victim reported to Deputy that sometime on March 17, 2014 between the hours of 8:00 am and 6:00 pm, unknown persons attempted to force entry into her garage. Victim stated that no entry was gained but damage sustained to the structure was over one thousand dollars. Case is under investigation.

Arrested: Leo C De Baca 58 yoa, male, Santa Fe, NM
Charges: Aggravated DWI, and Reckless Driving
Deputies responded to the above location in reference to a Motor Vehicle accident involving an ATV with injuries. Upon arrival the above individual was unconscious and being treated by meds. Shortly after he was transported to the hospital for treatment. Witnesses on scene stated the driver of the ATV had consumed approximately 12 Budweiser beers and a half pint of Tequila prior to driving his ATV and crashing it. Deputy interviewed the above, at which time he admitted to consuming the amount of alcohol the witnesses had described. A blood draw was taken pending results. Driver sustained several injuries and was admitted into the hospital. Suspect was released on his own recongnizance on the above charges.

Arrested: Shada Garcia 43, yoa female, Espanola, NM
Charges: Aggravated DWI- Refusal and Assault on a Peace Officer
Deputy located a suspicious vehicle at the above location. A Tan in color Mercury Cougar was attempting to leave the area without any headlamps as the Deputy approached. The vehicle was stopped and upon contact with the driver, driver showed signs of impairment. SFST's were conducted and driver showed signs of impairment. Driver was placed under arrest and read the New Mexico Implied Consent Advisory. Driver refused to any chemical or blood tests. Driver was transported to the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center and while en route she threatened to spit on the Deputy. When Deputy arrived at the Detention Center he attempted to remove the suspect from his rear seat, at which time she made an overt move attempting to spit on him. Suspect was restrained and charged accordingly without further incident.

On Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 2:12 AM deputies responded to a residence at the location in reference to a report of the victim having sustained a gun shot wound. Upon arrival the victim was found unresponsive displaying no signs of life. CPR was initiated and upon arrival of EMS Personnel no signs of life were found and attempts to revive the victim were terminated. The investigation is on going at this time. .

Charges: Abandon and Abuse of a Child, Aggravated Battery, Battery on a Household Member, and Concealing Identity
Deputies responded to the above location in reference to a fight in progress. Upon arrival deputies found the vicitm unconscious in the parking lot of the above location. The above suspect was found standing over the victim. Through further investigation it was found that the above suspect was involved in a domestic with his wife. Suspect had slapped his wife in the face for hugging the victim while she was holding her 3 month old child. Victim tried to intervine, which caused the suspect to punch the victim several times and slam his head into the ground. Victim sustained a orbital fracture to his left eye. Suspect provided deputies with a different date of birth trying to conceal his identity. Suspect was arrest and booked accordingly without further incident.

On Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 10:08 PM the suspect was found on the side of the road at the location in physical control of the vehicle. The passenger was observed outside of the vehicle and he was vomiting. A welfare check was done on the occupants. The sus[ect was found to be under the influence of an intoxicating liquor and had a Breath Alcohol Content of .08 or greater.

Victim reported between 12:00 p.m. and 6:30 pm unknown persons forced entry into his residence by breaking a window. Once inside the suspect(s) stole $9000.00 in cash. A possible witness advised sometime around 5:00 pm they observed a male walking away from the residence to a white in color pick up truck parked near the residence. Suspect identification is pending further investigation.
