Arrested: Santiago Garcia, 49 yoa male, Santa Fe, NM
Charges: DWI-Felony, Driving while license revoked, Open Container, Roadways laned for traffic, and No Insurance
Deputy observed a Green in color Ford Explore at the above location fail to maintain its lane of travel. A traffic stop was conducted, at which time contact was made with the driver. Driver had an odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from his person. Driver refused to preform SFST's and to submit to a breath test or blood draw. Driver was placed under arrest. A check of the drivers license was conducted through NM Motor Vehicles which revealed that the driver had 4 or more DUI offenses and had a revoked license. A search warrant was obtained for a blood draw. The vehicle was found to not be insured and several bottles of alcoholic beverages with their contents partially missing were found inside the vehicle. Vehicle was seized as pursuant to the Santa Fe County Ordinance 2006-5. Suspect was arrested and booked accordingly.

Deputies responded to the above location in reference to a residential alarm at approximately 8:03 pm. Deputies found unlawful forced entry through a south facing french door. Victim reports the above item was taken. Total estimated value of damage $1022.00. Case still pending further investigation.

0214007580 Death Investigation 05/20/2014

Location: NM Hwy 106 (Arroyo Seco area)
On this date Deputies responded to the above address in reference to a death investigation. The victim (53 year old male) was found unresponsive and not breathing by family member after complaining of chest pain. At this time death appears to be of natural causes. This incident is currently under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
Case # 0214007544 Agg. Dwi/Leaving the scene of a crash 05-19-14

Location: Maple St. (Cottonwood Mobile Home park in the Agua Fria and Airport Road Area)
Arrested: Ernesto Barrios 34 yoa male
Charges: Agg.Dwi, Leaving the scene of a crash, No insurance, No Driver's License.
On May 19, 2014 Deputies were dispatched to Agua Fria Road and Antonio Lane (Agua Fria and Lopez Lane Area) in reference to a hit and run crash. Deputies located the suspect after leaving the scene inside Cottonwood Mobile Home Park. During contact with suspect he was found to be heavily intoxicated and showed multiple signs of impairment during field sobriety tests. Suspect was arrested and submitted to a breath test which revealed suspect was over a .16 breath alcohol content. Suspect was taken to the Santa Fe County Detention Center where he was booked accordingly.

On Monday, May,19, 2014 Santa Fe Sheriff Deputies responded to the area of Plaza Del Cerro in reference to a reported burglary. Upon Sheriff Deputies arrival contact was made with victim who advised that between May 17, 2014 and May 19, 2014 suspect(s) gained unlawful entry into the victims home, once entry was gained the suspect(s) took various tools from within the home. This case remains under investigation.

The victim (66 year old female) was found unresponsive and not breathing by a friend who stopped by to check on her. At this time death appears to be of natural causes. This incident is currently under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.

Suspect: Juan R. Lozoya, 40, Santa Fe, NM
Charged: Aggravated DWI, Failure to Obey Signal, Open Container
On Sunday, May 18, 2014 at 6:38 PM the suspect was operating the vehicle east at the location and failed to stop for a red traffic control signal. The suspect was found to be under the influence of an intoxicating liquor and had a Breath Alcohol Content of .16 or greater. There was an open can of Budweiser Beer on the righ front floorboard of the vehicle.
