Victim reported that sometime between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm on May 13, 2014 unknown suspects gained unlawful entry into the victims home. Once entry was gained suspect(s) rummaged through the home and eventually took various jewelry from within the home. This case remains under investigation.

On this date Deputies responded to the above address in reference to a death investigation. The victim (65 year old female) was found unresponsive and not breathing by Deputies after a neighbor had not heard from her today. At this time death appears to be of natural causes. This incident is currently under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.

Victim reports sometime between the hours of 1:30 pm and 8:00 pm unknown person(s) gained unlawful forced entry into a 1996 Chevrolet Pick-up truck at the above location. Entry was gained by breaking the passenger side window. The above item was stolen from the vehicle. Case still pending further investigation.

Santa Fe Sheriff Deputies responded to the Santa Fe County Detention Center in reference to a narcotic's violation. Santa Fe Sheriff Deputies arrived at which time the suspect narcotic was given to the Santa Fe Sheriff's Deputies. Jail staff advised that unknown suspects attempted to smuggle the narcotics into the facility. This case remains under investigation.

Santa Fe Sheriff's Deputies responded to an address on East Feather Catcher in reference to a reported theft of identity. Contact was made with the the victim who stated that a suspect obtained the victims identity and attempted to use it for an unemployment claim. This case remains under investigation.

Arrested: Mario Chavez-Mejia 48 years old, Abiquiu, NM , 87510
On May 12, 2014 Santa Fe Sheriff Deputies responded to a traffic stop in the area of US 84/285 mile marker 185. Rio Arriba Sheriff Deputies stopped a vehicle that was observed traveling at a high rate of speed in Santa Fe County. Santa Fe Sheriff Deputies made contact with the driver at which time an odor of alcoholic beverages was detected. SFST's were administered at which time signs of impairment were observed. The driver was arrested and submitted to a breath test. The suspect was booked accordingly.

On May 12, 2014 Santa Fe Sheriff Deputies responded to the Santa Fe Adult Detention Center in reference to reported narcotic's violation. Santa Fe Sheriff Deputies arrived on scene and were advised of a narcotics violation. Jail staff gave Deputies the suspected narcotic that was located on the above mentioned suspect. The narcotic was taken as evidence and the inmate was charged.

Suspect: Bryan Conkling, 38, Santa Fe, NM
Charged: Aggravated DWI, Open Container
On Sunday, May 11, 2014 at 11:53 PM the suspect was found to in physical control of the vehicle at the location. The vehicle was stopped, facing north, partially in the outside lane of travel with the key in the ignition and the engine on. The suspect was found to be under the influence of an intoxicating liquor and several prescription medications. The suspect refeused to submit to a Blood Alcohol test. The suspect was also found to be in possession of an open bottle of wine.
