Deputies were dispatched to location in reference to a domestic battery. Upon arrival, Deputies spoke to victim who had visible injuries to arms and neck. Deputies were told that suspect had struck her and choked her. Suspect was located and was arrested, then transported to jail.

Suspects: Justus Peterson 33 yoa male charges Abandonment or Abuse of a Child X2

                   Brenda Laffey 24 yoa female charges Abandonment or Abuse of a Child X2,

                   Battery on a Peace Officer X2

On August 14, 2011 Deputies responded to the above location in reference to an intoxicated male.  Deputies found the living conditions to be unsuitable for children.  The above suspects were arrested at which time Deputies were battered (no-injury).  CYFD was contacted.  The above suspects were transported and booked on the above charges into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center.

Stolen: Wells Fargo Check book, Android phone, Wallet, Michael Kohr Purse, Misc. Jewelry, Wells Fargo Debit Card, Wells Fargo Credit Card, Mac Laptop, and Driver's License

Estimated total value: $2,800.00

Suspect: Pending

On August 14, 2011 between the hours of 1400 and 1600 hours unknown suspect(s) broke the rear driver side window of a 2000 Toyota 4Runner Silver in color with an unknown object.  The vehicle was parked at  the above location.  The above listed items were stolen from within the vehicle.  Total estimated value of damage $400.00.  Case still under investigation.

Location: 1000 Block of Village Way    Southwest Santa Fe, NM

Suspect: Richard Chavez        Age: 26       Santa Fe,NM

   Deputies were dispatched to location in reference to a fight in progress. Upon arrival it was discovered that the fight was involving a boyfriend and girlfriend. Deputies learned that the male battered the female several times and fled the area prior to Deputy arrival. Deputies located the suspect near the location and took him into custody for the criminal act. The suspect was booked into jail.

Suspect: James Kaminski      Age: 29       Albuquerque,NM

Vehicle: 2001 Yamaha MC      Blue

Driver was stopped by  Deputies after observing several traffic violations. Upon initial contact , driver displayed signs of impairment and was asked to submit to sobriety testing. Driver was arrested and  submitted to chemical testing. The results were .08, .08


Case#0211011885 / Aggravated DWI, Possession of Marijuana, Leaving the Scene of an Accident / 08/12/2011

Location: Redwood Street/Sycamore Street, Cottonwood Mobile Home Park

Arrested: Eliias Velasquez 23-year-old male from Santa Fe New Mexico

    On the evening of 08/12/2011 Deputies were dispatched to a hit and run motor vehicle crash at the above listed location.  Deputies located the suspect vehicle a short distance from the crash and contacted the driver, Mr. Velasquez who was found to be under the influence of an intoxicating liquor.  He also was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana.  He was arrested and booked on the above listed charges.

Arrested: Octaviano Lucas-Cortez, 34-year-old male from Santa Fe N.M.

    On 8/13/2011 at approximately 1:30am a traffic stop was conducted on Mr. Lucas-Cortez.  He provided Deputies with a false name.  Further invesstigation revealed his true name.  He was arrested and taken to the Santa Fe County Jail without further incident on the above charge.

Location: Bosquecillo (La Pardera Area)

Stolen: 2 Flatscreen Samsung Televisions Estimated Value $1,200.00

Suspect: Pending

On August 12, 2011 between the hours of 0800 and 1700 hours someone unlawfully gained forced entry through the front door at the above location.  The above items were taken from within the residence.  Estimated damage to door $200.00.  Case still under investigation.

Location: Wind Dancer Road / State Road 472 (North Edgewood)

Suspect: Jeffery Nawrocki, 22 yoa male, Edgewood

Deputies responded to a call fro service in regards to a fight at the above location.  Victim was found with injuries to his head, back, arm as a result of a baseball bat being used on him.  Suspect and Victim were arguing about internet service prior to the fight.  Suspect was located at the scene and arrested without incident.  Suspect was booked into ADC without incident

Damaged: two side windows ($500)

Deputies responded to above location in regards to a vacant home being damaged.  Suspect(s) broke two side windows and entered residence.  Once inside suspects did no further damage and left the area.  Case is under investigation.
