On 8-7-2010 at 11:31 PM the suspect was operating the vehicle east at the location when he was stopped during a check of BLM Land.  The suspect was found to be under the influence of an intoxicating liquor.  The suspect's New Mexico driver's license as well as the vehicle's New Mexico registration were expired.  There were several open containers of beer in the vehicle.

                  Must be Licensed, Mandatory Proof of Financial Responsibility, Evidence of

                 Registration to be Carried and Exhibited Upon Demand

On 8-8-2010 at 2:09 AM the suspect was operating the vehicle east at the location and was unable to maintain a single lane of travel.  The suspect produced an ID Card that was ficticious and had a differernt name on it.  The suspect was unable to produce proof of registration or insurance upon request.  A check with the New Mexico Department of Motor Vehicles revealed no driver's license on file.

Charged:  Aggravated DWI, Careless Driving, No Insurance

On 8-7-2010 at 6:08 PM the suspect was operating the vehicle north at the location and was following another vehicle too closely.  The suspect was found to be under the influence of an intoxicating liquor and had a Breath Alcohol Content of .16 or greater.  The suspect was unable to produce proof of insurance upon request.


Case# 0210006526 DWI/Motor Vehicle Crash (Injury)

Building:  Real Food Nation, 624 Old Las Vegas Highway

Suspect:  Augustine Ortiz, 19, Santa Fe, NM

Charged:  DWI, Careless Driving, Safety Belt Required, Open Container, License to be

                  Carried and Exhibited Upon Demand, Immediate Notice of Accident

On 8-7-2010 at 3:08 AM the Santa Fe County Fire Department responded to the building in reference to an activated Fire Alarm.  Upon their arrival they observed the vehicle inside the building.  The suspect was located a short distance from the crash scene and had sustained injuries that were consistent with being the operator of the vehicle at the time of the crash.  The vehicle had been traveling north on US Highway 285 and failed to stop for the posted stop sign at the intersection of the Old Las Vegas Higway.  The vehicle then entered the property at 624 Old Las Vegas Highway and struck a building, knocking down a wall and coming to rest inside of the building.  The suspect was found to be under the influence of an intoxicating liquor and a Blood Alcohol Test was administered.  Results of that test are pending.  There was an open bottle of beer in the vehicle.  The suspect was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was not in possession of his valid New Mexico Driver's license.  The suspect failed to contact any Law Enforcement Agency about the crash, instead phoned a friend.  The suspect sustained contusions and abraisions.


0210006541 Death Investigation

Location: Cibola Circle (Old Las Vegas Hwy area)

Deputies responded to the above area in reference to a death investigation. 24 years old male subject was found by family member deceased. CPR was preformed but was unsuccessfully in reviving male subject. There were no signs of foul play located at the scene.

Suspect/Arrested: Pending

Sometime between the hours of 8:30 a.m. on 8-6-2010 and 12:00 a.m. on 8-7-2010 an unknown person(s) gained force entry into a residence at the above location. Upon entry into the residence the suspect(s) stole a 47" flat screen TV, a white gold wedding ring set, necklace and a bottle of prescription drugs.  No suspect or witness information is available at this time.   


0210006497/Receiving or Transferining stolen property/08-06-10

Location of incident 104 Calle Lazo Errante (Vista Verde MHP) Santa Fe, NM 87507

Suspect/Arrested: Gabriel Salinas-Calzontzi  (23 years old)

On 8-6-10 at approximately 12:19 p.m. the above deputy was conducting a close patrol of the above location and encountered three male individuals standing next to two vehicles with the doors open.  Upon the males seeing the deputy, two of the males fled the area on foot and the other remained on the property.  The male that remained on the property (Arrested suspect) admitted to officers that he had met the two males that had fled on foot at this location for the purpose of buying a stolen TV for $300.00.  A 55" flat screen TV valued at $1500.00 was located in the suspects vehicle.  The suspect was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property.  The two males that fled on foot have not been located.

Stolen: Desktop computer, internet modem, pearl necklace, portable DVD player, USA coins.

Victim reported that on this date some time between 7:30am and 4:00pm some unknown person unlawfully entered the residence through the unlocked front door. The above listed items were stolen valued at about $2565.00
 


0210006504 Unlawful taking of a motor vehicle

Location: Durango Street Santa Fe NM (Richards Ave area)

Stolen: White 2008 Trails West Horse Trailer, assorted Tack and Saddles

Victim reported that on this date some time between 1:30pm and 2:30pm some unknown person stole the above listed white horse trailer and all the saddles and tack stored inside of it from the above location. The trailer and equipment inside had an estimated value of about $25000.00.

Victim reported that an office portable was entered through the front door that was forced open. Once inside the unknown suspects took the above items. The burglary took place at some point between last date, 8/5/10 and today, 8/6/10.
