Between 09/01/07 and 09/02/07 unknown suspects broke into 4 portable class rooms. Entry was gained by breaking windows. It is unknown at this time what has been taken from the class rooms. One of the class rooms was an art room. This room had heavy damage. Paint was thrown on everything in the room causing several thousands of dollars in damage. The case is still under investigation.

Suspect: Geraldo Mendez age 57, Charges: Agg DWI, Careless Driving, No drivers License. Municipal Court Warrant failure to appear On 8/31/07 suspect was driving a 1987 Ford F-150 white in color, and was stopped for weaving. Suspect was found to be intoxicated and arrested. Breath test .21/.21.


0207006936Burglary/Larceny

Deputy assigned: Dan Garcia, Commander entering: Sgt. Ernest Borrego, Location of incident: 4650 Airport Rd space# 14, suspsect/charges: none. Victim reported that sometime between 8/29/07 8:00am and 8/29/07 2:00pm, unknown person(s) BURGLARIZED her storage shed by prying back some metal siding. Suspect(s) STOLE an electric weed eater, valued at $200.00.

The defendant was stopped for traveling with his high beams engaged, blinding oncoming traffic on Airport Road. The defendant was found to be under the influence of alcoholic beverages and following testing was arrested and booked accordingly into the cound jail.


0207006914 - Aggravated Assault

Date: 09/03/07, Deputy Assigned: Deputy Solomon Romero, Commander Entering: Lieutenant Dennis O'Brien, Location: 6000 Block Jaramillo Lane, Arrested: Raul Sanchez, 22 yoa Santa Fe, NM

A 22 yoa male was advised by his girlfriend that another male had been making statements about sexual acts that had been performed on the female and her sister. The defendant went to the suspects residence and an argument ensued. The suspect then attempted to strike the victim male with his vehicle and collided with another vehicle during the attempt. No one was injured and the suspect was located at his residence and arrested. He was booked accordingly into the county jail.

Charges: Santa Fe City arrest warrant

The above suspect was stopped for driving after dark with no headlights. Upon checking it was determined the suspect had an active arrest warrant out of the City of Santa Fe. The suspect was arrested and booked into the detention center without incident.

On 09/01/07 between 5:00pm and 6:20pm the suspect parked her car at the above location. The suspect broke a window and stole the victims purse. The case is still under investigation.


0207006851, Unlawful taking of a motor vehicle

Victim reports he parked his vehicle, 2006 Toyota Scion on the shoulder of Ocate Road on 8/30/07 at 1700 hours.  Victim discovered vehicle missing on 8/31/07 at 0600 hours.  Vehicle was entered into NCIC.

Victim reported that she received a letter from Global Connect stating she had won the multi-state lottery of $150,000.00.  Enclosed was a check for $4995.15.  Victim then wired $2415.00 to Canada to cover for the taxes.
