On the above date the suspect crashed his vehicle into a cable barrier at the rest area. Deputies observed signs of impairment.The suspect refused field testing and chemical testing. The suspect was booked without incident.

Fraud amount: $20,000
Victim received a phone call from a Jamaica number saying he had won 2.1 million dollars and a new car in the lottery. Victim was advised that he just needed to send a 7,000 dollar deposit for the winnings. Once the money was sent, they called the victim back and said the accounting department made a mistake and he won ten million dollars and a new car, but victim needed to send another 13,000 dollars, which he did. When the money and car did not show up the victim realized he had been scammed and reported this crime.

Deceased: 76-year-old female
On 1-24-22 a 76-year-old female was found deceased in her residence by a friend. The friend went to her residence after not hearing from her in a couple days. The investigation revealed she appears to have passed away from natural causes.

On Sunday, January 23, 2022 Deputies responded to the location in reference to a sexual assault that occurred. Victim reported she was sexually assaulted. Case was turned over to Santa Fe County Detectives for further investigation.

Deputies responded to above location in reference to an ambulance assist of a female subject not conscious and not breathing. OMI arrived on scene and found no signs of foul play.

Suspect Karly De La Cruz 32 Santa Fe NM
Deputies were dispatched to the area of US 84/285 near mile marker 176 in reference to a motor vehicle crash with no injuries. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke the drivers involved. During the course of the investigation signs of impairment were detected on Karly Dela Cruz driver of the silver in color Porsche Cayenne. SFST’s were conducted and Karly was placed under arrest and booked into ADC.

Arrested: Michael Pizzagalli, 43-years-old male from Santa Fe N.M.
On 1-23-22 a traffic stop was conducted on Mr. Pizzagalli after he was observed failing to maintain his lane and almost striking another vehicle. While speaking with Mr. Pizzagalli, deputies observed what appeared to be powder cocaine and ecstasy pills inside his vehicle. Further investigation and field test kits confirmed deputies suspicions. Mr. Pizzagalli was placed under arrest and booked into the Santa Fe County Jail accordingly.

Arrested: Michael Lopez, 38-year-old male from Espanola N.M.
On 1-23-22 a traffic stop was conducted on a 1999 Toyota Camry. The driver, Michael Lopez, was determined to be driving while his license was revoked due to a prior DWI. He was arrested and booked into the Santa Fe County Jail accordingly.
