Deceased- 27 year old female/ Espanola

On 3/17/2026 deputies were dispatched to a cardiac arrest. The caller advised a female had a seizure and wasn't conscious or breathing. Initially, BIA officers were dispatched due to the call being on the Nambe reservation. When rescue personnel arrived they attempted life saving measures but were unsuccessful. The decedent was identified as being non-Native, so SFSO deputies were called to the scene. After speaking with the caller, it was learned the decedent had been sick for quite some time and had been vomiting prior to having the medical episode that incapacitated her. No signs of foul play were observed, and deputies located narcotics paraphernalia in the decedent's purse, possibly indicating an overdose. OMI was called to the scene to conduct their investigation.


Case #2026001524/ Aggravated DUI/ 3/16/26

Location- Los Pinos Rd

Arrested- Jennifer Wessels (42 year old female/ Santa Fe)

On March 16, 2026, deputies were dispatched to a mobile home park Los Pinos Road in reference to a single motor vehicle crash. Upon locating the vehicle, Deputies made contact with the driver, who displayed several signs of impairment. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs) were administered. Chemical testing was subsequently performed, with results of 0.19 and 0.19 BRAC. The subject was transported to the Santa Fe Adult Detention Center (SFADC), where she was booked without further incident.


Case #2026001516 Driving while license revoked (DWI Related)

Deputy Assigned: A. Gallardo

Commander Entering: Cpl. B. Lattin

Location: Interstate 25 Mile Marker 282, Santa Fe

Arrested: Carrie Royball-Chavez, 53 YOA female, Santa Fe

Deputies conducted a registration check of a vehicle and found the registered owner’s license revoked due to a previous DWI. Deputies stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver. The driver was found to be the registered owner. The driver was placed under arrest and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility.


Case# 2026001514/ Burglary of Motor Vehicle/ 3/16/26

Assigned: Deputy Cadet  N. Sandoval

Entering: Lt. C. Brandle

Location: Los Pinos Rd.

Suspect: Unknown

Deputies were dispatched to the area in reference to a theft from a motor vehicle. Victim reported sometime between Friday, March 13th and March 16th, unknown suspects gained unlawfyl entry into his vehicle ans stole power tools. Case is under investigation. 


Case #2026001501/ Aggravated DUI/ 3/15/26

Assigned- Deputy M. Ward

Location- US 84/285 @ MM 172

Arrested- Damien Sundby (28 year old male/ Los Alamos)

A deputy observed a vehicle stop at a stop sign at an off-ramp for approximately 30 seconds. The car was there long enough for the vehicle behind them to honk at it. The deputy began following the vehicle on US 84/285, and the vehicle was observed veering into other lanes. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver displayed signs of impairment. He was arrested for DUI, but refused to provide a breath sample. A search warrant was obtained for a blood draw. He was transported to the hospital where a sample of his blood was taken. He was later booked at the SF ADC.


Case #2026001499/ Aggravated DUI, Careless Driving, Resisting Evading/ 3/15/26

Assigned- Deputy J. Flores-Ramirez

Location- US 84/285 @ mm 183

Arrested- Freddy Fernandez-Sermeno (43 year old male/ Espanola)

On March 16, 2026, deputies were dispatched to US 84/285 near mile marker 177 in reference to a reckless driver. Upon locating the vehicle, a traffic stop was initiated. Deputies made contact with the driver, who displayed several signs of impairment. While deputie3s were attempting to place the above subject under arrest, he resisted deputies’ attempts to effect the arrest, resulting in a brief struggle. Eventually, he was taken into custody. He was transported to the SFSO where he provided breath samples of 0.17 and 0.16. He was then transported to the Santa Fe Adult Detention Center (SFADC), where he was booked without further incident.     


Case #2026001497 // Driving While License Revoked, Traffic Violations - 3/14/2026

Arrested: James Goulden (60 YO)

Deputy observed the male on his cell phone and driving eratically and initiated a traffic stop. Contact was made with the driver who was found to have a revoked drivers license due to a prior DUI. Driver was arrested and charged accordingly. 


Case #2026001494 // Driving While License Revoked, Traffic Violations- 3/14/2026

Location: Llano St. 

Arrested: Katelin Calabaza (30 YO)

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle due to the registration showing to be expired. Contact was made with the driver who had a revoked drivers license due to a prior DUI. Driver was arrested and charged accordingly. 


Case #2026001486, 1487/ Warrant Arrest, Possession of a Controlled Substance/ 3/14/26

Assigned- Deputy D. Lovato

Entering- Corporal D. Moore

Location- St Michaels/ Calle Lorca

Arrested- Dylan Jarvis (35 year old male/ Santa Fe)

Dylan was contacted on a traffic stop and found to have an outstanding warrant and was arrested. When he was searched after arrest, narcotics were located on him and he was subsequently charged. He was later booked at the SF ADC.


Case #2026001489/ DUI, Failure to Maintain Lane, Improper Equipment

Location- 1600 Block of Agua Fria St

Arrested- Miguel Trujillo Paniagua (41 year old male/ Santa Fe)

A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for failing to maintain its lane and not having working license plate lamps. Upon contact with the driver, he displayed signs of impairment and was arrested for DUI. He was transported to the SFSO where he provided two breath samples of .10/.10 BRAC. He was later booked at the SF ADC.
