Deputies responded to the location in reference to a fraud. The victim advised deputies an unknown suspect claiming to be an FBI Agent. The suspect advised the victim to get money out of their bank account and give it to a third party. The victim advised they did not get money out of their account but did observe money had been removed by unknown suspect(s).

Deputies observed the above vehicle traveling on North Riverside Dr. The registration plate returned expired 10-2025 so a traffic stop was conducted. The above suspect was driving the vehicle and the suspects license status was revoked due to a prior DWI. The listed suspect was arrested and booked into Santa Fe County ADC without incident

Arrested: Karlos Velasquez, 19 YOM
On Saturday, January 10, 2026, deputies were patrolling the above area when they observed a vehicle with an equipment violation. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with the above driver. During the contact, it was discovered he had an active bench warrant for his arrest. He was placed under arrest and was transported to the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility. There, he was booked accordingly and without incident.

On Saturday, January 10, 2026, deputies responded to the above area for a report of a person who was not conscious and not breathing. Upon arrival, it was discovered the person was beyond life-saving measures. OMI responded to the scene. At this time, there are no signs of foul play and the death appears to be of natural causes.
Case #2026000189/ Aggravated Fleeing, Reckless Driving, DUI/ 1/10/26

Location- Cerrillos/ I25
Arrested- Sergio Tovar (23 year old male/ Santa Fe)
Sgt. Webb was driving southbound on Cerrillos Rd at Vegas Verdes when a vehicle passed him driving the same direction and nearly crashed into him. The vehicle was speeding and driving all over the roadway. Sgt. Webb initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle fled. A pursuit was initiated and the vehicle continued driving erratically, nearly striking multiple roadway signs. The suspect vehicle failed to navigate the diverging diamond and drove over the center median, causing the vehicle to go airborne and crash. The driver was taken into custody without incident and did not sustain any injuries. He admitted to ingesting multiple narcotics and a blood warrant was obtained by Deputy Przyojski. He was later booked into the SF ADC.
Case 2025000193/ Unattended Death/ 1/10/26
Assigned- Deputy D. Lovato
Entering- Corporal D. Moore
Location- Abs Rd (Chupadero)
Deceased- 82 year old male
Deputies were dispatched to a residence for a cardiac arrest. Upon arrival deputies spoke with the caller, who advised she believed her husband passed away in his sleep. Medical personnel were unable to revive the male and OMI was called to the scene. Nothing suspicious was observed and it’s believed he passed away from natural causes.
Case #2026000188, 191/ Warrant Arrest x2 / 1/10/26

Location- St. Michaels/ 5th St
Arrested- Mariah Carter (26 year old female/ Santa Fe)
Mariah was contacted during a traffic stop and found to have two outstanding warrants. She was arrested on the warrants and later booked at the SF ADC.
