A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for having expired plates and no insurance. The driver, who provided the driver's license under the name of Joaquin Mendez Chavez, was found to have warrants under two other names. The warrants were found due to his fingerprints matching with the aliases. His passenger was also found to have an outstanding warrant. Both were arrested and later booked at the SF ADC.

Deputies responded to the address in reference to a domestic disturbance. Investigation revealed the suspect hit the victim several times, while he was holding a 6 year old child. Suspect was taken to the detention center.

Arrested: Ruben Rodriguez (45 YO)
On July 15, 2026, deputies responded to the intersection of Old Santa Fe Trl/Old Santa Fe Way, Santa Fe County, New Mexico, regarding a hit and run crash. The suspect, Ruben Rodriguez, sideswiped the victims vehicle and crashed into a ditch while attempting to flee the scene. Mr. Rodriguez was located a short time later where he attempted to flee from deputies. Mr. Rodriguez was located at his residence a short time later and taken into custody. Mr. Rodriguez refused to conduct SFSTs and chemical testing. Mr. Rodriguez was booked into SFADC without further incident.

Deputies were in the area of N. Riverside Dr. and NM 76 and made contact with Santa Clara PD. Santa Clara PD had made contact with the suspect and another suspect who had an outstanding warrants for their arrest. The suspects were not tribal member so Deputies arrested them and booked them into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center.

Deputies were in the area of N. Riverside Dr. and NM 76 and made contact with Santa Clara PD. Santa Clara PD had made contact with the suspect who had an outstanding warrant. The suspect was not a tribal member so Deputies arrested him and booked him into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center.

Location: Casa Rufina apartments
Victim: 58 Y.O.F
Arrested: Ricky Chavez (60 Y.O.M).
Deputies were dispatched to the location in reference to a TRO violation. Upon arrival it was learned that the victim had a TRO against the suspect. However she had willingly contacted the suspect and went to his residence to try to continue the relationship. Upon investigation it was determined that an argument occurred and the suspect had pushed the victim to the ground causing a laceration to her forehead. Suspect was arrested and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility.

Deputies were on routine patrol in the area and made contact with the suspect. Upon a subsequent NCIC records check it was found that the suspect had an outstanding warrant for traffic offenses. Suspect was arrested and taken to the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility.

Victim: 70 YOF
Victim contacted the Sheriff's Office because unknown suspect(s) stole her CZ 9mm handgun from its case. Victim last saw her firearm on approximately March 28, 2026 and noticed it was missing on July 14, 2026. Victim is moving out of state and hired Paul Davis to help her. Paul Davis hired multiple different subcontractors for the job and were given permission to enter the residence. It is unknown at this time who took the firearm. The firearm was entered into NCIC as stolen.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. The driver was found to have a revoked license due to a previous DWI. The drive was arrested and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility.
