Deputies responded to a disturbance call of a female knocking on the RP's door making threats. Deputy made contact and while being detained, suspect struck the deputy on the arm with an open hand. No injuries and suspect was placed under arrest and booked into SF ADC.

Arrested- Gerardo Sustaita (56 year old male/ Santa Fe)
Deputys observed Gerardo behind a gas station and recognized him from previous contacts. He was found to have an outstanding warrant, so deputies contacted him. He was arrested on the warrant and booked into the SF ADC.

Arrested- Sara Tafoya (50 year old female/ Santa Fe)
Deputies working a proactive enforcement operation were contacted by loss prevention from a local retailer advising a female had just shoplifted from their store. Deputies located the vehicle described by loss prevention and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. She was arrested and the merchandise was recovered. She was later booked at the SF ADC.
2026002198 / Aggravated DUi - No Proof of Insurance - Vehicle to be Registered / 04/21/2026

Arrested: Joshua Velarde (26 YOM)
Deputy conducted a welfare check on Mr. Velarde who was parked on the side off the road, and was witnessed falling over multiple times. SFSTs were adminstered and signs of impairment were observed. Mr. Velarde subitted to a breath test and blew over double the legal limit. He was booked accordingly.

On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, deputies responded to the above location for a report of an inmate with an active bench warrant. Upon arrival, deputies confirmed the warrant was valid. The subject was rebooked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility without incident.

Deceased: Steven Martinez (44 YO)
Deputies were dispatched to the residence in reference to a male who was not conscious or breathing. EMS determined the male was beyond life saving measures. OMI arrived and advised there was no signs of foul play. Next of kin was notified.

Decedent: 68 YOA male, Santa Fe
Deputies responded to the location in reference to a male not conscious and not breathing. Deputies arrived on scene and located the decedent. The decedent was cold to the touch and obviously beyond life saving measures. The Office of the Medical Investigator was contacted and responded to the scene to complete an investigation. No signs of foul play were located.
Case #2026002158/Recovered Stolen Vehicle

Suspect: Chuck Warner 61 YOM
On 4/20/26, Deputies responded to the above address reference to a located stolen trailer. This trailer was reported stolen out of Albquerque. The registered owner had the trailer equipped with an "Airtag" and was notified to the location of this trailer.
The registered owner drove to the location and was able to visibly see the trailer on this property.
The trailer was recovered and removed from this property by the registered owner. The property owner was found to be storing this trailer for Chuck Warner. The trailer was removed from NCIC as stolen.
