Deputies were dispatched to the SFADF, in reference to an inmate in custody who had an additional outstanding warrant for his arrest. The suspect was served for the warrant. Original charges of Failure to appear for Battery against a household Member and Recieving stolen property (firearm)

Arrested: David Steffens 

Deputies responded to the location in reference to a welfare check. While en route RECC, advised the reporting party noticed an unknown male on her property acting unusual. Upon arrival Deputies identified the male and spoke to the victim. The victim informed deputies, the male had shattered one of the windows to her residence with a brick. The victim stated she did not know who the male was and wished to press charges against the suspect. The suspect admitted to jumping the fence into the victim’s property and damaging one of the windows to her residence. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.

The above listed was recognized and located at the Maverik Gas Station, contact was made and she was taken into custody without incident and booked.

Deputies responded to the location in reference to a criminal damage. Deputies were advised unknown suspect(s) damaged a landscaping project occurring at the location.

Deputies were dispatched in reference to a motor vehicle crash, upon deputies observed signs of impairement on the driver and a DWI investigation was conducted. The above listed was subsequently arrested and booked without incident. 


Case #2026003768 Burglary of a motor vehicle

Deputies responded to the location in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle. Deputies were advised unknown suspect(s) broke into the victim’s vehicle and stole property from within. No suspect information at this time.  


Case #2026003761 Battery against a household member, Disorderly conduct

Location: 200 block Los Pinos Road, Santa Fe

Arrested: Sonia Rodriguez-Ortega, 50 YOA female, Albuquerque

Deputies responded to the location in reference to a domestic disturbance. Deputies learned the suspect and victim had engaged in a physical altercation at the location while heavily intoxicated. It was learned the suspect initiated the altercation. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility.


Case #2026003755/ Warrant Arrest/ 7/18/26

Arrested- Dominic Lugo (37 year old male)

Location- Cerrillos Rd/ Cordova

Deputies contacted Dominic after he was seen Jay-Walking across Cerrillos Rd. He was found to have an outstanding warrant and was arrested. He was transported to the SF ADC where he was booked. 


Case #2026003753/ Agg DUI (great bodily harm), Driving While License Revoked, Reckless Driving/ 7/18/26

Assigned- Deputy M. Olivas

Entering- Corporal D. Moore

Arrested- Luis Lopez (21 year old male/ Santa Fe) 

Location- County Road 56c/ Paseo Rael

On July 18, 2026, deputies were dispatched to the above address in reference to a single-vehicle rollover crash. Upon arrival, deputies located a single cab Chevrolet pickup truck that had rolled over and contained 3 occupants. Two passengers were transported to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. During the course of the investigation, deputies determined that the driver displayed signs of impairment. Following SFST's, the driver was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. It was also learned that the driver had a revoked driver's license due to a previous DUI. The driver was transported to the Santa Fe Police Department to utilize their Intoxilyzer 9000 instrument. Chemical breath testing was subsequently performed, resulting in a breath alcohol concentration of [.11, 11].The driver was then transported to the Santa Fe Adult Detention Center (SFADC), where he was booked without further incident.
